The Santa Cruz Parks And Recreation Commission has endorsed a proposal to continue the overnight curfews on Cowell’s and Main Beaches. Both existing city beach curfew’s apply only to the “dry sand” portions of the beach, but allow the public to cross the “dry sand” areas to get to the “wet sand” areas 24 hours a day. Santa Cruz City Council members are expected to discuss the continuation of the curfews, prior to the California Coastal Commission’s March meeting.
