A prayer vigil was held in Seaside yesterday (Tuesday) in hope of healing a community and supporting a grieving family.
About 30 people attended the event, held in the parking lot of Seaside Community Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Last week, 32-year-old Tremain Calloway was shot and killed near the church where the event was held, located on Valmar Court in Seaside. Seaside’s police chief says Calloway is the first homicide in the city in about five years.
The multifaith service was organized by Kenny Murray, pastor of Ocean View Baptist Church. Murray said he believes prayer can help both Calloway’s family and the community.
