Oysters being harvested in Baja California Sur, in Mexico, are reportedly linked to a gastrointestinal illness outbreak in California. At least a dozen people have said that they got sick after eating raw oysters from restaurants and stores in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Orange And San Diego counties.
Tests of oysters from Estero El Cardon have shown 6 separate toxic pathogens. People who believed they may have been sickened by eating raw oysters are encouraged to contact a doctor.
