As expected, the Santa Cruz city council voted down a plan to house the homeless at a parking lot at depot park.
Meanwhile… there was another death at the Gateway Plaza homeless encampment this week. A woman in her 30’s was found dead inside her tent with drug paraphernalia near by. This is reportedly the fourth death at the unsanctioned camp in five months.
Councilmembers did not make a decision on a new location for an alternative camp site in Santa Cruz… nor did they decide to push back the April 17th closing date for the so called “Ross Camp.”
