Recreational salmon season south of Pigeon Point in San Mateo County opened Saturday to what fishermen described as very good results. The season north of Pigeon Point to just north of Shelter Cove in Humboldt County opens this Saturday.
Monterey Bay hosted much of last weekend’s salmon fishing, with many fisherman reporting catching their two-fish limit of Chinook salmon weighing between five and nearly 20 pounds.
