Caltrans crews have assessed all road areas (near the slides south of Big Sur) and the section of Highway 1 at Mud Creek Slide is scheduled to reopen at 4 p.m. today. Unfortunately, due to heavy mud and boulders on the roadway, Highway 1 at Paul’s Slide will remain closed until tomorrow at 4 p.m. Motorists in the area can expect to encounter a flagging operation with one-way reversing traffic control, to allow for Caltrans to continue roadwork in the area.
