Should PG&E Be Broken-Up 12-24-18 05:30 DC

California’s Public Utilities Commission is considering drastic action against Pacific Gas & Electric Company over concerns about the company’s role in deadly wildfires and a 2010 gas explosion.

The P-U-C on Friday discussed whether to break-up PG&E, replace its board of directors, or turn the company into a public utility, among other options.

Officials continue investigating the company’s role in starting deadly wildfires, including the recent Camp Fire that killed at least 86 people and destroyed close to 15,000 homes.

The company has had no comment on the PUC discussions.
