The American Red Cross says it has been asked not to distribute to Camp Fire evacuees the small tool kits usually given to disaster victims. The kits allow evacuees to search through debris looking for personal items.
Officials at the Camp Fire say the burn area is covered in toxic substances that may take months to remove. They are concerned for the safety of fire victims who could potentially be poisoned by carcinogens and other harmful substances
Meanwhile, the search for fire victims has ended, according to Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea (KOR-EE HON-EE) 88 bodies have been found. 200 people remain missing and Honea says he is very optimistic no additional bodies will be found and the missing are actually alive.
