Cal-Trans closed Highway 1 at noon yesterday in the Mud Creek and Paul’s Slide areas south of Big Sur, and they are still closed. Cal-Trans says they hope to be able to get the engineers out there tomorrow morning.
In the meantime, access between these two sites is via Nacimiento-Fergusson Road, but through traffic must detour along Highways 101, 68 & 46 to get to the road. There is a 12-foot height restriction at one of the bridges along this route.
