Police say a Saratoga man made off with a guitar listed on Craigslist for $20,000. The theft occurred at a home in the Vineyard Estates area of San Benito County on Nov. 25.
Sheriff’s investigators say 26-year-old Mark Michael Ellis arrived at the guitar owner’s home and played the instrument before stealing it. On Monday, police identified Ellis and found him at his parent’s Saratoga home.
The guitar was recovered and has been returned to its owner. Ellis was arrested, booked into the San Benito County jail, and is free on bond.
