Although Highway 1 is still open through the Mud Creek and Paul’s Slide areas south of Big Sur, it is scheduled to close at noon today. Highway 1 (between those 2 slides) will remain closed until Cal-Trans engineers can get out there and check to see if the roadway is stable, and/or what repairs need to be made, so it can be re-opened.
