A man has been arrested in connection with a fire at Santa Cruz’s dry cleaning shop. Vapor Cleaners, a dry cleaning shop. Police say a transient, 31-year-old Laurentino Lopez Gomez ,is responsible for the November 1st blaze at the Vapor Cleaners on Water Street.
Detectives say video recordings from nearby businesses provided a description of the suspect. On Sunday, a Santa Cruz Ranger spotted Gomez, who matched the description, in an area along River Street. In an interview, police say Gomez made incriminating statements. He was arrested and booked on an arson charge.
