A man has been sentenced to spend 7 years in prison for causing a fatal crash in Prunedale a year-and-a-half ago. 22 year-old Bryan Onofre Garcia was driving drunk when he lost control of his vehicle on San Miguel Canyon Road, and it veered into oncoming traffic. Garcia and one of his passengers (as well as the driver of the other car) suffered broken bones; while his other passenger, Jennifer Barajas, was declared dead at the scene.
