When they meet tonight, Salinas City Council members are expected to consider having a year-round homeless shelter in their city. The shelter would be located off east laurel drive near constitution park….and a school. Some locals don’t like that it would be close to a school, however, council members say that they chose that parcel because its the city’s only property that fits the criteria. City council members are expected to vote on the plan around 4 p.m. today.
