Don’t Fall for DMV Scam Sites 10-03-18 18:45 DC

The California Department of Motor Vehicles is warning people about the threat posed by fake websites pretending to be the official DMV site.

There is an easy way to tell fake sites – which include D-M-V-dot-org – from the official site. The fake sites charge money for services the DMV offers for free on its website. These include updating driver’s license and ID card applications.

The real DMV site is at dmv.ca.gov. The DMV says it is investigating the imposters.
