A Highway 9 traffic collision with a Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputy ended with the arrest of a suspected car thief. A patrol unit near El Solyo Heights collided with a truck that made a turn in front of the deputy. A records check showed the driver Jessie Shrock was under investigation for vehicle theft. A searh of the truck uncovered a guitar stolen with a car. The car was recovered on Bear Creek Road. Shrock was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail.
