Landlords and Library — Tuesday Council Advance 09-11-18 04:23 DC

The Santa Cruz City Council is today expected to consider a law that could be enacted as a contingency in case the rent control and just cause eviction proposal, Measure M, fails to receive voter approval on the November ballot. The new law would require landlords to compensate tenants who move out following a large rent increase.

Also today, the Council could decide on a $38 million proposal for a new downtown library and parking structure.
