Investigators say a 7-year-old boy killed while riding a stand-up scooter was struck by a vehicle driven by a family member.
The CHP told reporters that the boy is supposed to be from Colombia. He died at the scene of the accident, which occurred about 2:40 pm Monday at an address on Newell Creek Road.
The CHP says the driver of a 2018 Toyota pulled into a driveway before colliding with the child. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to have played a role in the accident. The investigation is continuing and the child’s name has not been released.
