A man was arrested on theft charges in the Live Oak area Saturday night. Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a car parked near 7th and Soquel Avenues, where deputies found a Chevy SUV with two flat tires. An officer spotted Ronald Dillon down the street with a tire iron and a new tire. Around the same time, our dispatchers got a call from a couple who woke up to one of their tires missing from their car. The deputies determined Dillon just stole the tire and was walking back to his car when he was stopped. Dillon was arrested for the theft of the tire, possession of burglary tools, and a parole violation.
