CARR FIRE (Tues. a.m.):
The Carr Fire has burned more than 207,000 acres in and around Redding, and is 65 percent contained. Approximately 1600 structures have been destroyed, and 528 are still threatened.
MENDOCINO COMPLEX (Tues. a.m.):
The Mendocino Complex Fire has burned more than 354,000 acres and is now 68 percent contained, with full containment expected by September 1st. This Fire has destroyed more than 250 structures, and threatens 1025 more. This Complex is made up of: The 100% contained 48,920-acre River Fire, and the much larger Ranch Fire. A firefighter from Utah died yesterday while working in an active area of the Ranch Fire.
FERGUSON FIRE (Tues. a.m.):
The Ferguson Fire (which is now in its 33nd day), has burned more than 96,000 acres near Yosemite National Park, and is 86% contained. Yosemite Valley re-opened to visitors at 9:00 o’clock this morning. Full containment is expected tomorrow, however, interior parts of the forest may continue to smolder and burn for some time, causing lingering smoke.
