Monterey Peninsula Unified School District will receive $213 million for classroom repairs and improvements after voters passed Measure I. The bond measure needed 55 percent of the vote and unofficial results show 65 percent of voters supported the measure. Funds are earmarked to replace aging plumbing, gas, electrical and sewer systems. Classrooms and athletic facilities are set to be repaired with the dollars.
