Deputies with the San Benito County Sheriff’s Department expect to start wearing body cameras this week while in the field and in the jail. Officials with the sheriff’s office hope the cameras will provide beneficial evidence for prosecution, as well as ensuring that deputies show professionalism at all times. The security system at the jail has also been upgraded from analog to digital, and 22 new cameras have been installed in and around the San Benito County Jail.
