(16:31)SANTA CRUZ- The First District Court of Appeal, upheld a 6.8 million dollars judgment against an internet retailer in a class action multi county lawsuit that includes Santa Cruz County. Following a lengthy 2013 trial, Overstock.com was found to be engaging in false advertising and unlawful business practices. Overstock was also ordered to pay over 6 million dollars in civil penalties and an injunction to prevent future violations. The Court of Appeal’s decision will become final in 30 days. Overstock has 30 days to file a petition with the California Supreme Court before the decision becomes final.
