While Highway 1 is closed north of the Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge in Big Sur, Cal-Trans crews are cleaning up mudslides and other damage caused by winter storms. Crews will be installing metal guardrails and removing loose soil and overhanging trees. Workers are expected to remove about 300 truck loads of soil from the 130 foot wide, 150 foot tall slide.
