(13:08)SALINAS- A suspected car thief was sentenced to 16 months behind bars on Friday. On March 4th of this year a Salinas patrol unit took Michael Silva into custody for prowling. Silva was then charged with driving a stolen vehicle, when it was found the vehicle he was driving was registered to a Modesto man who was out of the country. Due to current prison re alignment Silva will serve his sentence in the Monterey County jail.
