A Monterey woman is among the first people in the world to receive an artificial pancreas. 54 year-old Rebecca Bishop was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes back in 1972. She now has a Mini-Med 670G system, which is a wearable device that monitors her blood sugar levels, and injects insulin (as needed).
