(08:45) Santa Cruz – Caltrans performed an emergency roadwork closure on Highway 17 Sunday. Work crews closed the number 2 northbound lane at Vine Hill Road from 7a-m. until 4 p.m. The closure was necessary to remove mud and debris from the roadway. Caltrans also reports that down trees and power lines have shut down Highway 9 at Brackney Road. Motorists are advised to find alternate routes.
