(17:02) SANTA CRUZ- A group of rental units were red tagged by Santa Cruz officials days before Christmas. Residents of the 22 units on the 330 block of Ocean Street found their bungalows red tagged and the utilities shut off five days before Christmas. The city’s decision to enforce the code violation came just days after the fatal warehouse fire in Oakland. The property management company in charge of the dwellings is housing the displaced residents at local motels until January 7th.
