(06:40) Santa Cruz & Carmel – A body that was found in Carmel on August 26th has been identified. 51 year-old Remie Casillas’s body was found near the Crossroads Shopping Center at 3645 Rio Road. Casillas was a Santa Cruz resident and had been reported missing since February 2015. Her body was found by a backhoe operator who was working in a field. The cause of Casillas’s death has not been determined at this time. Anyone with information regarding her death is encouraged to contact Sheriff Detective Bret Speirs at 831-755-3772.
