(18:06) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – 3 Southern Sea Otters were shot and killed this summer. Their bodies were found between the Santa Cruz Harbor and Seacliff State Beach. Southern Sea Otters are protected under the Marine Mammal Protection Act, and anyone found guilty of killing one could face a fine of up to $100,000 and time in jail.
