(19:15) SANTA CRUZ- A Watsonville man suspected of murder may have been robbed by his victim. 30 year old Damian Malik Baxter is accused of fatally shooting 33 year old Jesus Rocha in November of 2015. During a preliminary hearing yesterday (Thursday) prosecution witnesses testified that the shooting was motivated by a love triangle. The defense countered with police testimony that victim had been under investigation for an armed robbery of Baxter a few months prior to the fatal shooting. Baxter faces life in prison if convicted.
