(16:50) SALINAS- The Monterey County District Attorney’s office will now be investigating officer involved shootings in Salinas. As part of the Salinas police’s effort to improve community relations, the department is following a DOJ suggestion, that officer involved fatal shootings and non fatal injury incidents be investigated by a third party. Before the new policy was implemented the department conducted its own officer involved shooting investigations.
