(08:44) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – The Santa Cruz County sheriff’s office is the most recent local law enforcement agency to implement a Neighborhood Video Partnership. Sheriff’s deputies are asking residents and business owners in the county (who have video surveillance at their homes and businesses) to register those security cameras with the department. No one in the department would have direct access to the video system, but deputies would be able to search their database of registered cameras, and be able to determine who’s camera footage might be able to help with an investigation. To become a neighborhood video partner with the sheriff’s office, people can call the department, or go on-line to: www.scsheriff.com
Other local agencies that are using the Neighborhood Video Partnership are Capitola, Seaside, and King City.
