April 26, 2016: UC Officials Visit California High Schools

(08:01) CALIFORNIA – Senior leaders from all 10 UC campuses have been visiting high schools across the state to encourage students to pursue higher education. The systemwide effort called Achieve UC is targeted at schools that serve a high proportion of low-income and disadvantaged students. On Wednesday, UC Santa Cruz Chancellor George Blumethal will visit Castroville’s North Monterey County High School, to talk about the feasibility of UC education and the importance of acquiring a college degree. A college representative will also be on hand to talk to students about the application process and the availability of scholarships and financial aid. (S.G.)
