March 24, 2016: Two Arrested in Prunedale in Connection with Auto Theft Ring

(07:01) PRUNEDALE – Two people were arrested in Prunedale on Wednesday in connection with an auto theft ring. Officers were following up on a reported case of vehicle theft when they were led to a property on the 19000 block of Wild Horse Court. Investigators found a number of auto parts and at least seven cars that had been reported stolen in recent months. Jesus Perez and Betssi Sandoval were arrested at the scene on suspicion of operating a chop shop. Both suspects were booked into Monterey County Jail. The investigation has been handed over to the Multi Agency Detail for Commercial Auto Theft and the Santa Cruz Auto Theft Reduction and Enforcement Unit. (S.G.)
