(08:28) MONTEREY COUNTY – A Seaside man has pleaded no contest to charges stemming from an incident of domestic violence. The attack took place in July 2014 at The Mucky Duck bar in Monterey, now known as Bull and Bear Whiskey Bar and Tap House. 29-year-old David Vake was arrested after striking the victim in the face, causing a facial fracture and knocking out teeth. While out on bail, Vake failed to appear in court and sent threatening text messages to the victim. Vake will be ordered to serve eight years in prison when he is sentenced on May 10. (S.G.)
