January 13, 2016: Dozens of Syringes Found on Seabright State Beach

(07:56) SANTA CRUZ – Dozens of syringes have recently been found at a Santa Cruz beach. Officials say 26 needles were collected at Seabright State Beach after being washed out by increased storm flow in the San Lorenzo River. The discovery was recorded by the local organization Take Back Santa Cruz, which has tallied nearly 9,700 discarded needles since November 2012. Residents are being asked to be cautious while visiting Seabright State Beach and contact 911 or a park ranger if they find a syringe. (S.G.)
