(UPDATE) January 13, 2016: Salinas High School Locked Down During Arrest Nearby

(Updated at 06:20) – Salinas High School was briefly locked down Tuesday afternoon while police made an arrest nearby. Officials say 59-year-old Vicente Vistal boarded a bus near campus and claimed he was armed with two guns. Responding officers were able to subdue Vistal and discovered he was in possession of a fake gun. The suspect was treated for minor injuries following his arrest. He was later booked into Monterey County Jail for probation violation and resisting arrest. (S.G.)

(Posted January 12 at 16:00) SALINAS – Salinas high school was placed on a brief lockdown Tuesday afternoon during a police action. That after a man riding a bus in Salinas near the school made threats. The bus was stopped, and the man was taken into custody. (S.S.)
