(06:53) MONTEREY – A new warming shelter for homeless and at-risk youth opened in Monterey Thursday. The Safe Place Emergency Shelter on Pearl Street will house young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 while providing food, clothing and conflict resolution counseling. The shelter will be able to house 12 individuals on a first-come, first-serve basis. The new facility is funded by the non-profit Community Human Services and will open its doors on rainy nights or nights when it’s below 45 degrees. (S.G.)
