December 14, 2016: Camacho Found Guilty of First Degree Murder

(17:00) SALINAS – A man has been convicted of the 2010 first degree murder of a 6 year-old boy in Salinas. Bernardo Camacho was convicted of killing Azahel Cruz, as the little boy stood in his own kitchen. The bullet that killed Cruz was fired from a vehicle, at some gang members that were in a park across the street from Cruz’s home. Camacho, who faces life in prison without the possibility of parole, is scheduled to be sentenced January 20, 2016. The driver of the car Camacho was in (when he shot Cruz), was driven by Edmundo Pulido who has pleaded guilty to his involvement in Cruz’s death.
