(07:57) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – A Placerville man has been sentenced to life in prison for the rape and murder of a Boulder Creek girl. In December of 1986, the body of 17-year-old Annette Thur was found on an embankment off Skyline Boulevard. Her killing went unsolved for over two decades, before investigators found DNA evidence linking 52-year-old John William Kelley to Thur’s murder. Kelley pleaded no contest in July and was sentenced on Friday. He faces two additional murder charges after confessing to the killing of two campers in Del Norte County in 1988. (S.G.)
