(11:10) CENTRAL COAST – Backyard burn season has begun in the tri-county area. Earlier this week, the Monterey Bay Air Pollution Control District announced that it is permitting the burning of dry yard trimmings in Santa Cruz, San Benito and Monterey counties through April 30, 2016. The burning of garbage and treated wood is still prohibited at all times. All fires must be at least 100 feet from any nearby structure or property.
