December 2, 2015: 30 y/o Cold Cases linked

(19:00) MONTEREY PENINSULA – Two 30 year-old Monterey County cold-cases have now been linked to each other. 18 year-old Sheila Chavez was last seen alive in Carmel Valley, and 32 year-old Sandra McGee was last seen alive in Monterey. They were both killed back in 1982, and the link between them and Pacific Grove resident Suzanne Nixon, who died in 1983, appears to be a man named Alfred Powell that all 3 knew. Powell is currently serving a 15 year-to-life sentence at the State Prison in Solano for Suzanne Nixon’s death. The remains of both McGee and Nixon were found on the property where Powell lived.  Investigators believe that Powell may also have killed other women as well.
