November 11, 2015 (Veteran’s Day): More Housing For MCo Veterans

(17:23) MONTEREY COUNTY – With 193 known homeless veterans living in Santa Cruz county, and another 141 of them living in Monterey county, the Veterans Transition Center in Marina is working to expand its housing for homeless veterans. Right now they provide housing for up to 56 veterans for up to 2 years each, but they’ve just received a grant they hope will allow them to develop permanent supportive housing….meaning vets would not necessarily have to leave after 2 years. The organization is also working to build a 70-unit village for veterans.
