A bag left behind at a Carmel business this afternoon prompted authorities to evacuate a number of buildings in the area, and call a local bomb squad. The business is on Mission Street near 5th Avenue, and authorities blocked off a 4-block area. The Monterey County Sheriff’s bomb squad arrived on-scene around 6 p-m.
