2 people were injured in a 2-car accident in Salinas this evening. The 6 p.m. incident occurred in the intersection of Sanborn and Freedom Parkway. Salinas fire crews freed 4 people from 1 car and 1 from the other. A 4 year-old child from one car was airlifted to a trauma center, while a 25 year-old man in that car was transported to a local hospital with major injuries. The intersection stayed closed for more than 3 hours, while investigators worked to determine the cause of the accident. Charges are pending for both drivers, because 1 was unlicensed, and the other was driving on a suspended license.
