Caltrans has announced that the number two northbound lane of Highway 1 will be closed in Monterey County now through Thursday. This closure will take place from just north of the Highway 1 and Highway 218 onramp, to the northbound Fremont Boulevard and Del Monte Boulevard offramp from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The lane closure is necessary to repair and construct a failed highway embankment due to heavy rain this winter.
