Santa Cruz City Council Changes Rules for Food Trucks- 1/28/15 9:00 S.G.

Santa Cruz city officials have changed the rules for food trucks in the area. Yesterday, the city council approved a pilot program that would allow vendors to serve outside parks and set up downtown for longer periods of time. For now, trucks will be able to park outside Harvey West, San Lorenzo, Depot and lower DeLaveaga parks for up to four hours between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. The 18-month pilot program will also allow vendors to park on Cooper Street for First Friday. Previously, food trucks were not allowed to serve near parks and could only sell for 15 minutes in one public location.
