Carmel business owners have started a petition opposing new parking meters. The meters have been installed on Ocean Avenue from Junipero to Monte Verde and are being used for a six-month trial period. Store owners in the area believe the meters are affecting their business. More than 700 people have signed the petition so far. The city council plans to hold a public meeting in March to get feedback on the trial period.
