Cause of Big Sur Pfeiffer Fire Determined- 12/03/14 1:00 P.S.

The U.S. Forest Service revealed the cause of the Big Sur Pfeiffer fire today. Investigators said that the fire was ignited by control wires from a nearby water company, and dried leaves and redwood needles served as fuel. The fire began before midnight in Los Padres National Forest on December 15th of last year and burned along Pfeiffer Ridge Road on Highway 1, ultimately destroying 34 homes.
